Golden Bearathlon 2016

The Golden Bearathlon will consist of an intense draft legal sprint followed by an exciting mixed team relay. Draft legal racing is a format that is growing in popularity and importance, especially at the collegiate level. The course is perfectly suited for draft legal racing, allowing beginners and veterans alike to experience the camaraderie, challenge, and thrill of a draft legal race.

RACE DETAILS: 

A sprint distance, draft-legal race with distances of 500 meters for the swim, 11.3 miles for the bike, and 3.1 miles for the run. The collegiate men and community men will race together in the same wave.

Swim Cap (Must bring your own if only participating in the Mixed Team Relay)

LOCATION, DIRECTIONS, AND OTHER DETAILS:

The Golden Bearathlon will be located at the Berkeley Marina, Berkeley CA. Check out the Map Tab for specific location and directions. We will be providing and directing parking right next to the transition area. There will be bathrooms on-site.

7:30 AM Transition Opens
8:00 AM Pre-Race Briefing
8:30 AM Transition Closes
8:30 AM Water Opens for Warm-Up
9:00 AM Wave 1 Start (Men's)
9:30 AM Water Re-Opens for Warm-Up
10:00 AM Wave 2 Start (Women's)
11:30 AM Mixed Team Relay Start
1:30 PM Awards
